How to download from YouTube?

  1. Copy the link to the YouTube post — Share → Copy link, or the page address in your browser.
  2. Paste the link into the field at the top of the page and click “Download”.
  3. Check the title and preview, then choose a quality, “MP3 audio” or a photo.
  4. Wait while the file is prepared — progress is shown below the buttons.
  5. The file will be saved to your browser’s Downloads folder.

How to download MP3 from YouTube on your phone

  1. In the YouTube app, tap Share under the video and choose Copy link.
  2. Open meridianload.net in Chrome, Safari or Yandex Browser and paste the link into the field.
  3. Tap “MP3 audio” and wait while the service extracts the sound.
  4. The file is saved to Downloads: on Android any music player will find it, on iPhone it is in Files → Downloads.

On a computer — even faster

Open the video on youtube.com and add meridianload.net/ in front of the address in the address bar so that you get meridianload.net/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=…, then press Enter. The site opens, pastes the link itself and shows the “MP3 audio” button.

MP3 quality and size

The service takes the best audio track of the video and saves it as MP3 at 192 kbps. A minute of sound takes about 1.4 MB, so an hour-long podcast weighs roughly 85 MB.

Long recordings — lectures and podcasts lasting several hours — take longer to process. If the file cannot be prepared in time, send the link to the bot @MeridianDownBot.

Playlists in MP3
